Community-Based InvestmentsFamily and Community Resource Centers
During this difficult time of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, the Family and Community Resource Centers throughout Siskiyou County are working closely with community, county, and foundation partners to secure supportive resources including emergency food, basic needs, and virtual parent child activities and parenting classes.
We are grateful for their support of the communities.
The seven co-funded Family and Community Resource Centers in Siskiyou County are designed based on the Strengthening Families ™ framework, a research-based approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development, and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The core programs are based on engaging families, partner organizations, and communities in building five protective factors: Parental Resilience; Social Connections; Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development; Concrete Support in Times of Need; and Social and Emotional Development in Children. First 5 Siskiyou works with local schools, libraries, and community members to provide programs that enhance child development and parenting support and with funded Family Resource Centers. These Resource Centers are listed below with links to additional information.
