Parents, as the number one teacher of their child, have great influence in the child's life. Experiences in the first years of life shape the child's future. Many things can wait, as a parent or caregiver takes the time to nurture the child(ren), love them unconditionally and assure their safety at all times. Remember - the most important gifts you can give your child are your time and unconditional love. Pick up a free Parent Kit from your local Family/Community Resource Center. It is designed to provide Child Signature Program (CSP) participants and other early childhood educators the ability to participate in topic specific discussions, network with others, find teaching and learning resources, and more importantly, improve the classroom experience for children. Through the E4, we’re striving to bridge the education gap and work with early educators to enhance the teacher/child interactions in the classroom so every child enters Kindergarten ready to succeed. We look forward to providing early educators the resources needed to improve child outcomes in the classroom and welcome our county participants, as well as those not participating in First 5 California’s CSP, to access the online resources at www.F5CAe4.org. For more information, follow us via social media on both Twitter and Facebook. *** The following link will take you to a great resource from Oregon State University where you, your staff and families can get very specific resources related to parenting in the first years of a child's life.  http://www.extension.org/pages/22110/just-in-time-parenting-enewsletters *** CDC has a new site for parents of young children:  http://www.cdc.gov/parents/essentials/index.html Breastfeeding Support Life's Sweeter - Join the Challenge Building Healthy Lifestyles Healthy Eating Tips for Infants and Toddlers 10 Questions to Ask Your Child About His Day at School Domestic Violence Hurts Kids Too Pointers for Parents - Keep Your Youngsters on the Go See Dick and Jane...Sort Laundry?
